Practice focus

Wrap grouped pointed hair locks around a complete head while keeping the eyes, jaw, ear, and hoodie aligned in three-quarter view

Construction sequence

Build what matters first

  1. 1

Build the head as a tilted sphere with jaw and mark a curved center line plus eye, nose, and mouth levels.

  2. 2

Place the nearer eye wider than the far eye, then connect the cheek, jaw, ear, and neck around the three-quarter turn.

  3. 3

Draw the hair cap over the skull before cutting it into large directional clumps that overlap the forehead and ears.

  4. 4

Break each large clump into selected tapered locks, varying their length around the crown and sideburns.

  5. 5

Layer the hoodie collar behind the neck and use blue value groups to separate hair, fabric, eyes, and face.

Make it easier

Reduce the decisions

Use a front-facing head, one hair-cap silhouette, five large locks, two simple eyes, and a plain collar.

Make it harder

Transfer the structure

Increase the head turn and preserve skull volume while layering dozens of locks into a few readable light and shadow groups.

Difficulty rubric

Why this is intermediate

The label is an editorial band, not a precise score. It considers the factors below; your feedback is stored locally and does not silently change the rating.

  • three-quarter facial spacing
  • hair mass over skull
  • tapered lock grouping
  • collar and neck overlap
